During my time working on this magazine, I completely recreated the look and feel for it. I created a consistent look and feel, choosing fonts and colours that would highlight the modern and cosmopolitan topics covered in the magazine. I also recreated their events directory so that it would be easy to read, and easy to find what you were looking for.

Disney Month at CAA Newspaper Insert

This piece comes with a bit of a story. Originally I was given the working files for this piece and told to change the fonts, move some of the images around, etc. in order for it to adhere to CAA South Central Ontario branding standards. Two days before we were to go to print, I was told that we could no longer use the layout provided and we had to create an entirely new design for the 8-page newspaper insert. Also, because Disney generally needs at least one business day to approve a piece, I would have less than a day to redesign it.

After allowing myself about 5 minutes to freak out, I myself to work and got the piece done in 5 hours.

Gift Giving at CAA

This is the main piece for CAA's Gift Giving campaign. It is a newspaper insert. I worked with the merchandising department to create something that was simple, attractive and modern.

CAA Dollars with Car Care Centre - Direct Mailer

Image selection is a large part of my job at CAA. We work from a couple of stock image companies and have to make sure that the image captures the feel of the piece, and adheres to our brand guidelines.

Fall Cruise Campaign

This was a huge campaign that included bookmarks, an addressed and unaddressed direct mailer (trifold) and 2 months of newspaper ads. I had to work very closely with our suppliers, several publications throughout Ontario and the Travel Marketing team at CAA.

Beertender - Vector Illustration

Using Adobe Illustrator, I recreated a photo of a Heineken Beer dispenser. The project took roughly 100 hours and uses gradient mesh heavily. I used to display this piece with the photo beside it, but I kept getting the photo and the illustration confused. Let's just say the photo looks just like the illustration.

Working very closely with the client - a fashion designer - I created a logo that perfectly echoed the style of his creations. I worked with him and his team to create business cards and an email invite to his inaugural runway show.

Car Care Centre Materials

I created the new branding and all the office materials for CAA's Car Care Centres. This project had a very short lead time in that the branding created by another designer needed to be recreated in order to work with the company's brand standards.

Wedding Invitation Designs

I worked closely with these clients to create invitations that worked within their budgets and colour schemes. Both had a specific aesthetic they wanted to capture in their invites, and were extremely pleased with the results.

Francis' Story -Illustration and Book Layout

This piece was a commission for illustration and layout. I worked with the author to find a style that would match his work, and used bright colours to make an otherwise sad and emotional story accessible to young readers.

Breakfast Series

This is a project I did in my last year at OCAD, I wanted to create a series of paintings that were photo realistic. I chose breakfast objects because they are colourful, and delicious.
